ahmad-zuhd:760ʿAbdullāh from my father > Abū Muʿāwiyah > ʿAmr b. Maymūn from his father > Um al-Dardāʾ > Lī Abū al-Dardāʾ Lā Tasʾalī al-Nās Shayʾ > Faʾin Āḥtajt

[Machine] "If you need, then follow the harvesters and see what has fallen from them, then gather it, grind it, and eat it. And do not ask people for anything."  

الزهد لأحمد:٧٦٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَتْ قَالَ لِي أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ لَا تَسْأَلِي النَّاسَ شَيْئًا قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ فَإِنِ احْتَجْتُ؟ قَالَ

فَإِنِ احْتَجْتِ فَتَتَبَّعِي الْحَصَّادِينَ فَانْظُرِي مَا سَقَطَ مِنْهُمْ فَاخْبِطِيهِ ثُمَّ اطْحَنِيهِ ثُمَّ كُلِيهِ وَلَا تَسْأَلِي النَّاسَ شَيْئًا
