The Prophet ﷺ did not get up after sleeping by night or by day without using the tooth-stick before performing ablution.  

أبو داود:٥٧حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أُمِّ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ لاَ يَرْقُدُ مِنْ لَيْلٍ وَلاَ نَهَارٍ فَيَسْتَيْقِظُ إِلاَّ تَسَوَّكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to not sleep during the day or night, and he would not awaken except to perform ablution.
