on his father's authority, told that his grandfather reported the Prophet ﷺ said: A slave who has entered into an agreement to purchase his freedom is a slave as long as a dirham of the agreed price remains to be paid.
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمُكَاتَبُ عَبْدٌ مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِ دِرْهَمٌ
[Machine] "The offices do not have any inheritance left from their correspondence."
«لَيْسَ لِلْمُكَاتَبِ مِيرَاثٌ مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِ»

[Machine] In the offices, he is a servant who has only one dirham remaining.
فِي الْمُكَاتَبِ هُوَ عَبْدٌ مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ دِرْهَمٌ
[Machine] He used to say that a scribe is a servant with no salary remaining for him.
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ الْمُكَاتَبُ عَبْدٌ مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ دِرْهَمٌ

الْمُكَاتَبُ عَبْدٌ مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ دِرْهَمٌ
"المُكَاتَبُ عَبْدٌ مَا بَقى عَلَيهِ مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِ دِرهمٌ".
"عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ: الْمُكَاتَبُ عَبْدٌ مَا بَقِىَ عَلَيْهِ دِرهَمٌ"
