that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed Allah Blessed and Most High gives respite (Yumli)" and perhaps he said: "(Yumhil)" respite to the wrong-doer until, when He seizes him, and he cannot escape." Then he recited the Ayah: Such is the punishment of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong (11:102).  

الترمذي:٣١١٠ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يُمْلِي وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ يُمْهِلُ لِلظَّالِمِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَخَذَهُ لَمْ يُفْلِتْهُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ ( كَذَلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى ) الآيَةَ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ نَحْوَهُ وَقَالَ يُمْلِي حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ وَقَالَ يُمْلِي وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ فِيهِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah gives respite to the oppressor, but when He takes him over, He never releases him." Then he recited:-- "Such is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes (population of) towns in the midst of their wrong: Painful indeed, and severe is His seizure.' (11.102)

muslim:2583 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Numayr > Abū Muʿāwiyah > Burayd b. Abū Burdah from his father > Abū Mūsá

Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, grants respite to the oppessor. But when He lays Hand upon him, He does not then let him off. Re (the Holy Prophet) then recited this verse:" Such is the chastisement of thy Lord when He chastises the towns (inhabited by) wrongdoing persons. Surely, His punishment is painful, severe" (xi. 103).

[Machine] About the Prophet (PBUH), he said, "Indeed, Allah grants respite to the wrongdoer until, when He takes hold of him, he cannot escape. Then, recite: 'And thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the cities while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe.'"  

ابن حبّان:٥١٧٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بُرَيْدٌ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْهِلُ الظَّالِمَ حَتَّى إِذَا أَخَذَهُ لَمْ يَنْفَلِتْ ثُمَّ تَلَا {وَكَذَلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ} »  

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَكَذَلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ} [هود: 102]

nasai-kubra:11181 – Abū Bakr b. ʿAlī > Yaḥyá b. Maʿīn > Abū Muʿāwiyah > Burayd > Abū Burdah > Abū Mūsá

الكبرى للنسائي:١١١٨١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَيُمْلِي لِلظَّالِمِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَخَذَهُ لَمْ يُفْلِتْهُ أَوْ يُمْهِلْهُ » ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَكَذَلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ} [هود 102]
