I saw the Prophet ﷺ offering prayers in a single garment in the house of Um-Salama and he had crossed its ends around his shoulders.

أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَدْ أَلْقَى طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ

In the house of Um-Salama I saw Messenger of Allah ﷺ offering prayers, wrapped in a single garment around his body with its ends crossed round his shoulders.

أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُشْتَمِلاً بِهِ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in Umm Salama's house in a single garment, placing its two ends over his shoulders.

أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُشْتَمِلاً بِهِ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying prayer in the house of Umm Salama in a single garment with its extremities crossing each other.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فِي ثَوْبٍ قَدْ خَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ

It was narrated from Umar bin Abi Salamah that he saw Messenger of Allah ﷺpraying in a single garment in the house of Umm Salamah, putting the ends of it on his shoulders."

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ

“I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing prayer in a single garment, wrapping himself in it and throwing the ends over his shoulders.”

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُتَوَشِّحًا بِهِ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ

“I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing prayer in a single garment, wrapping himself in it and throwing the ends over his shoulders.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1049)

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in a single garment crossing the two ends. (Using translation from Muslim 518a)

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُتَوَشِّحًا بِهِ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فِي ثَوْبٍ قَدْ أَلْقَى طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُشْتَمِلًا بِهِ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ قَدْ خَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ جَعَلَ طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in the house of Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, wearing only one garment and nothing else on him.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُتَوَشِّحًا مَا عَلَيْهِ غَيْرُهُ

[AI] "He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in the house of Umm Salamah, wearing a wrapped garment that was distinct on either side."

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فِي ثَوْبٍ مُلْتَحِفًا بِهِ مُخَالِفًا بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that Umar ibn Abi Salama saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in one garment in the house of Umm Salama. He was completely covered by it, and had put both ends over his shoulders.

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُشْتَمِلاً بِهِ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ

It was narrated from Umar bin Abi Salamah that he saw Messenger of Allah ﷺpraying in a single garment in the house of Umm Salamah, putting the ends of it on his shoulders." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 764)

«أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ»

[AI] Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us, and Bakr ibn Sahl narrated to us, and Abdullah ibn Yusuf narrated to us, and Ali ibn Al-Mubarak Al-San'aani narrated to us, and Ismail ibn Abi Uwais narrated to us, all of them from Malik ibn Anas, from Yahya ibn Sa'eed, from Adi ibn Thabit, from Abdullah ibn Yazid Al-Khatmi, from Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari, who informed him that he prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Hajj the Maghrib and Isha prayers in Muzdalifah together. The wording belongs to Mu'tarrif's hadith.

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْخَطْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَخْبَرَهُ «أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ جَمِيعًا» «وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ مُطَرِّفٍ»

[AI] that they found in the book of Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled by swearing an oath with a single witness. The wording is from the hadith of Ibn Abi Uwais.

[AI] Al-Qa'nabi narrated that Malik said, "Bakr ibn Sahl narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Yusuf, from me, Malik, that Ali ibn Al-Mubarak Al-San'aani narrated to us, from Ismail ibn Abi Uways, who narrated to me from Malik, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Umar ibn Abi Salamah, that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in a single garment, in the house of Umm Salamah, with his arms resting on his shoulders."

[AI] I heard Umar ibn Abi Salamah say, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in my mother's house wearing a single garment wrapped around him."

سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ يَقُولُ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُتَوَشِّحًا بِهِ»

[AI] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik that Bakr ibn Sahl narrated from Abdullah ibn Yusuf who informed us that Malik narrated from Ali ibn al-Mubarak al-Sana'ani who narrated from Ismail ibn Abi Uwais who informed me that Malik narrated from Nafi' who narrated from Ibn Umar who narrated from Hafsah that "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray two short rak'ahs after the Mu'adhdhin finished the Adhan before the prayer was established."

[AI] that Fatimah b. Abu Hubaysh said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have irregular bleeding, shall I abandon the prayer?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: "That is only from a vein and it is not menstruation. When the menstruation begins, then abandon the prayer, and when it ends, wash off the blood and pray."

أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ وَلَيْسَ بِالْحَيْضَةِ فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْتَسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ وَصَلِّي»

Ali ibn al-Mubarak also narrated from Malik, through Ismail ibn Abi Uways, who narrated from Malik as well. Malik narrated from Az-Zuhri, who narrated from Ubaidullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utbah, who narrated from Umm Qais bint Muhassin that she brought her young son to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , who had not eaten food yet. She sat him in his chamber and he vomited on his garment. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , called for water and he rinsed it off, but did not wash it.

It was narrated from Umar bin Abi Salamah that he saw Messenger of Allah ﷺpraying in a single garment in the house of Umm Salamah, putting the ends of it on his shoulders." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 764)

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ»

" عَنْ عُمَر بْنِ أَبِى سَلَمَةَ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ يُصَلِّى فِى بَيْتِ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ فِى ثَوْبٍ واحِدٍ مُتَوَشِّحًا بِهِ، وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْه عَلَى عَاتِقيه".
