[Machine] The Prophet, ﷺ , said, "Verily, when the sun rises, the devil withdraws from it. And when it spreads out, he separates from it. And when it approaches its zenith, he approaches it. And when it declines, he separates from it. And when it approaches sunset, he approaches it. And when it sets, he separates from it." He forbade performing prayer during those hours.  

الطبراني:٧٣٤٤ – حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ الْمُعَطَّلِ السُّلَمِيِّ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ إِذَا طَلَعَتْ قَارَنَهَا الشَّيْطَانُ إِذَا انْبَسَطَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلزَّوَالِ قَارَنَهَا وَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا وَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْمَغِيبِ قَارَنَهَا وَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا» فَنَهَى عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَاتِ

"The sun rises and with it the horn of the Shaitan, then when it is fully risen, he goes away. Then when it approaches the meridian he comes near to it, and when it has passed the zenith he goes away. Then when it is close to setting, he comes near to it, then when it has set, he goes away." And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade praying at those times.  

النسائي:٥٥٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ الشَّمْسُ تَطْلُعُ وَمَعَهَا قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا اسْتَوَتْ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا وَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَاتِ  

malik:15-46 – Yaḥyá > Mālik > Zayd b. Aslam > ʿAṭāʾ b. Yasār > ʿAbdullāh al-Ṣunābiḥī

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar from Abdullah as-Sunabihi that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun rises and with it is a horn of Shaytan and when the sun gets higher the horn leaves it. Then when the sun reaches the meridian the horn joins it and when the sun declines the horn leaves it, and when the sun has nearly set it joins it again." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade prayer at these times.  

مالك:١٥-٤٦ – حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ وَمَعَهَا قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا ثُمَّ إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا وَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَاتِ  

ahmad:19063 – ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Zayd b. Aslam > ʿAṭāʾ b. Yasār > Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ṣunābiḥī

“The sun rises between the two horns of Satan” or he said “The two horns of Satan rise with it, and when it has risen, Satan parts from it. When it is in the middle of the sky he accompanies it, then when it has crossed the zenith he parts from it. When it is about to set, he accompanies it, and when it has set he parts from it. So do no pray at these three times.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1253)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا كَانَتْ فِي وَسَطِ السَّمَاءِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا دَلَكَتْ أَوْ قَالَ زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا غَرُبَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَلَا تُصَلُّوا هَذِهِ الثَّلَاثَ سَاعَاتٍ
