[Machine] That his mother passed away while he was absent, so he asked the Prophet ﷺ if it would benefit her if he gave in charity on her behalf. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Yes."  

الطبراني:٥٣٨١حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ أُمَّهُ تُوُفِّيَتْ وَهُوَ غَائِبٌ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيَنْفَعُهَا إِنْ تَصَدَّقْتُ عَنْهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»
