Martyrdom of Ḥarām b. Milḥān at the incident Biʾr Maʿūnah and his crying out of joy when he was struck by a spear
Some people from the tribe of Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him to send with them people who can teach them the Quran. So he sent with them seventy men from the Ansar, among them Harām ibn Milhān, the uncle of Anas. However, they betrayed them and killed them.
Harām was the first to be stabbed with a spear, and blood was flowing from him. He grabbed it, raised it towards the sky, and said, "I have won by the Lord of the Kāʿbah." Then the Quran was revealed regarding them, "Convey to our people that we have met our Lord, and He was pleased with us and made us pleased."
