[Machine] He heard Jabir bin Samurah saying that a man died during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Then a man came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so has died." He (the Prophet) said, "He did not die?" Then someone came to him for the second time, and then the third time, informing him again. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "How did he die?" He replied, "He killed himself with a sharp object." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not offer the funeral prayer for him."  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ يَقُولُ مَاتَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَاتَ فُلَانٌ قَالَ لَمْ يَمُتْ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الثَّانِيَةَ ثُمَّ الثَّالِثَةَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ كَيْفَ مَاتَ ؟ قَالَ نَحَرَ نَفْسَهُ بِمِشْقَصٍ قَالَ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ  

[Machine] A man died during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and another man approached and said, "So-and-so has died." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "He has not died." Then a second man approached and said, "So-and-so has died." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "He has not died." Then a third man approached and said, "So-and-so has died." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "How did he die?" He said, "He killed himself with a knife that he had with him, so the Prophet ﷺ did not pray for him."  

مَاتَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ مَاتَ فُلَانٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَمْ يَمُتْ» ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ مَاتَ فُلَانٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَمْ يَمُتْ» ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ مَاتَ فُلَانٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كَيْفَ مَاتَ؟» قَالَ نَحَرَ نَفْسَهُ بِمِشْقَصٍ كَانَ مَعَهُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ
