[Machine] That Awf ibn Malik, meaning his father, came to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and he had she-camels with him. The Messenger said, "O Awf ibn Malik, don't your camels produce offspring while they are healthy and their ears are long? So deliberately cause one of them to fit its offspring and say, 'This is a Bahira,' and deliberately cause one of them to tear its ears, then say, 'This is a Sura,' and do not do so. Allah's help is stronger than your help, and Musa, Allah's prophet, is one of your ilk. Whenever Allah has given you something, it is lawful for you, and do not make anything of your property forbidden. Then he said to him, 'O Awf ibn Malik, which one of the two is dearer to you, your obedient slave who obeys you and follows your commands, or your slave who does not obey you and does not follow your commands?' He said, 'Rather, my dear one is the one who obeys me and follows my commands.'" He said, "So it is with you before your Lord, the Exalted."
