[Machine] The Jews came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and said, "O Abu Al-Qasim, we ask you about certain things. If you answer us, we will follow you, believe in you, and testify to your truthfulness." The Prophet replied, "I will answer you, but first you must do what the people of Israel did." They said, "We solemnly swear by Allah that we will comply." They asked, "Tell us about the sign of a Prophet." The Prophet replied, "When his eyes sleep, his heart does not." They asked, "How do you differentiate between the femininity and masculinity of a woman?" The Prophet replied, "When two water sources merge, if the woman's water overpowers the man's, the baby will be a girl, and if the man's water overpowers the woman's, the baby will be a boy." They said, "You have spoken the truth." They asked, "Tell us about thunder. What is it?" The Prophet said, "It is an angel from the angels who controls the clouds and directs them wherever Allah wills." They asked, "What is the sound that is heard during thunder?" The Prophet answered, "It is the roar of the cloud as it is being commanded until it reaches its designated location." They said, "You have spoken the truth." They asked, "Tell us what the people of Israel prohibited upon themselves." The Prophet replied, "They used to dwell in the desert and complain that they couldn't find anything suitable for them to eat except the meat and milk of camels. Therefore, they prohibited them." They exclaimed, "You have spoken the truth." They asked, "Who visits you from the angels? Because every Prophet has an angel who visits him with messages and revelations." The Prophet replied, "It is Jibril (Gabriel), ﷺ ." They said, "That angel is the one who brings war and fighting, but if you had said Mikael (Michael) who brings rain, we would have followed you. Then Allah revealed the verse, "Say, 'Whoever is an enemy to Jibril - it is [none but] he who has brought the Qur'an down upon your heart, [O Muhammad], by permission of Allah.'" (Quran 2:97)

[Machine] The Jews came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Abu al-Qasim, we ask you about five things. If you inform us about them, we will recognize that you are a prophet and we will follow you." He then took an oath from them similar to the oath taken by the Children of Israel, saying, "Allah is a witness to what we say." They said, "Inform us about the sign of a prophet." He replied, "The eyes of a prophet sleep, but his heart does not sleep." They asked, "Tell us about how to distinguish the feminine and masculine form in Arabic." He said, "When two waters meet, if the water of the man overpowers the water of the woman, it will be masculine. And if the water of the woman overpowers the water of the man, it will be feminine." They asked, "Tell us the prohibition that the Children of Israel imposed upon themselves." He said, "They suffered from a particular disease and could not find any remedy except for milk, so they prohibited its consumption. Some of them suggested that it referred to camels, so they prohibited their meat." They said, "You have spoken the truth." They asked, "Tell us about thunderbolts." He said, "They are angels from the angels of Allah who are appointed to handle the clouds. They have a piece of fire with which they drive the clouds as Allah commands." They asked, "What is this sound that we hear?" He said, "It is their voice." They said, "You have spoken the truth. Only one question remains, which is the one we will use to swear loyalty to you. If you inform us about it, then know that no prophet comes except with an angel who brings him news. So tell us who your companion is." He said, "Gabriel." They said, "That is the one who descends for war, fighting, and punishment. Our enemy. Had you said it was Michael, who descends with mercy, vegetation, and rain, then Allah would have revealed (the verse), 'Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel' (2:97) until the end of the verse."

[Machine] The Jews came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Abu al-Qasim, we ask you about certain matters. If you answer them, we will follow you, acknowledge your truthfulness, and believe in you." He responded to them in the same way that the Children of Israel responded to their Prophet when they said, "Allah is sufficient for us as a Witness." They said to him, "Tell us about the sign of the Prophet?" He said, "His eyes sleep, but his heart does not." They said, "Inform us how a woman should be addressed and how a man should be referred to?" He said, "When the waters of both meet, if the water of the woman is higher than the water of the man, she is referred to with a feminine pronoun, and if the water of the man is higher than the water of the woman, she is referred to with a masculine pronoun." They said, "You have spoken the truth." They then asked him, "What is thunder?" He said, "It is an angel from the angels, delegated with clouds, whose keys are made of fire. They drive the clouds wherever Allah wills." They said, "What is the sound that is heard?" He said, "It is the rebuking of the clouds. When it rebukes, it continues to do so until it reaches where it was ordered to go." They said, "You have spoken the truth." They then asked him, "What did Israel prohibit for himself?" He said, "He used to live in the desert and complain about the leanness of women. He did not find anything suitable for him except the meat of camels and their milk. Therefore, he prohibited them." They said, "You have spoken the truth." They then asked him, "Who comes to you from the angels? For there is no Prophet except that an angel from the angels comes to him, commissioned with the message and the revelation. Who is your companion?" He said, "It is Gabriel." They said, "That is the one who descends with war and fighting. That is our enemy from the angels. If you had said Michael, who comes down with rain and mercy, we would have followed you." So, Allah revealed, "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is [none but] he who has brought the Qur'an down upon your heart, [O Muhammad], by permission of Allah, confirming that which was before it and as guidance and good tidings for the believers" [Quran 2:97] until the end of the verse, "Indeed, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers" [Quran 2:98].
