[Machine] I heard Ibn Umar say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the drinking of Nebeeth made from grapes." So I went to Ibn Abbas and mentioned that to him, and he said, "Ibn Umar spoke the truth." I asked, "What is the meaning of Al-Jarr?" He said, "It is the liquid that comes from dates."  

الطبراني:١٢٤٢٠حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ جَنَّادٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَزْرَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرُ يَقُولُ «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ» فَأَتَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ «صَدَقَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ» قُلْتُ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ الْجَرُّ؟ قَالَ «مِنْ مَدَرٍ»

I said: 'I asked Ibn 'Umar about Nabidh made in an earthenware jar and he said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade it.' He said: 'Ibn 'Umar spoke the truth.' I said: 'What is an earthenware jar?' He said: 'Anything that is made of clay.'"

[Machine] I heard Ibn Umar saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the drinking of wine. So, I went to Ibn Abbas and mentioned this to him. He said, "That is true." I asked, "What is wine?" He replied, "Every drink that is made from dates."
