[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by a man who had applied henna and said, "How nice is this." Then he passed by another man who had applied henna and katam and said, "How nice is this."Then he passed by another man who had applied yellow dye and said, "This is better than all of it." And Tawus used to apply yellow dye.

الطبراني:١٠٩٢٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ ثنا حَجَّاجٌ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ رَجَاءٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ قَدْ خَضَبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ فَقَالَ «مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا» ثُمَّ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ آخَرُ وَقَدْ خَضَبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ فَقَالَ «مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا» ثُمَّ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ آخَرُ وَقَدْ خَضَبَ بِالصُّفْرَةِ فَقَالَ «هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا كُلِّهِ» وَكَانَ طَاوُسٌ يَخْضِبُ بِالصُّفْرَةِ

When a man who had dyed himself with henna passed by the Prophet ﷺ, he said: How fine this is! When another man who had dyed himself with henna and katam passed by, he said: This is better than that. مَرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ رَجُلٌ قَدْ خَضَبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ فَقَالَ مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا قَالَ فَمَرَّ آخَرُ قَدْ خَضَبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ فَقَالَ هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا قَالَ فَمَرَّ آخَرُ قَدْ خَضَبَ بِالصُّفْرَةِ فَقَالَ هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا كُلِّهِ

“The Prophet ﷺ passed by a man who had dyed his hair with henna and said: ‘How handsome this is!’ Then he passed by another who had dyed his hair with henna and Katam, and said: ‘This one is more handsome than that one.’ Then he passed by another who had dyed his hair yellow and said: ‘This one is more handsome than all of them.’”

[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with henna-dyed hands, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How beautiful this is." Then another man came after him with henna-dyed hands and feet, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This is even more beautiful." Then another man came, dyed with yellow pigment, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This is the most beautiful of all." It is narrated that Tawus used to dye himself with yellow pigment.

البيهقي:١٤٨٢٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ نا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ بَنِي طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِمْ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ

مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلٌ وَقَدْ خَضَّبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ فَقَالَ مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا ثُمَّ مَرَّ رَجُلٌ بَعْدَهُ وَقَدْ خَضَّبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ فَقَالَ هَذَا أَحْسَنُ ثُمَّ مَرَّ آخَرُ قَدِ اخْتَضَبَ بِالصُّفْرَةِ فَقَالَ هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا كُلِّهِ قَالَ وَكَانَ طَاوُسٌ يَخْضِبُ بِالصُّفْرَةِ 14821 وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أنا أَحْمَدُ نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ نا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَذَكَرَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
