[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , had some dates with me that changed in quality, so I took them to the market and sold them for two saas of dates. When I approached him with the money, he said, "What is this, O Bilal?" I informed him, and he said, "Wait, return the sale, then sell dates with gold, silver, or wheat, and then buy dates with them." Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Dates are exchanged for dates, equal in quantity. Wheat is exchanged for wheat, equal in quantity. Gold is exchanged for gold, equal in weight. Silver is exchanged for silver, equal in weight. If the two types differ, then there is no harm, and one is given ten times its value."  

كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عِنْدِي تَمْرٌ فَتَغَيَّرَ فَأَخْرَجْتُهُ إِلَى السُّوقِ فَبِعْتُهُ صَاعَيْنِ بِصَاعٍ فَلَمَّا قَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْهُ قَالَ «مَا هَذَا يَا بِلَالُ؟» فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ قَالَ «مَهْلًا ارْدُدِ الْبَيْعَ ثُمَّ بِعْ تَمْرًا بِذَهَبٍ أَوْ فِضَّةٍ أَوْ حِنْطَةٍ ثُمَّ اشْتَرِ بِهِ تَمْرًا» ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «التَّمْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ وَالْحِنْطَةُ بِالْحِنْطَةِ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ وَالذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ وَالْفِضَّةُ بِالْفِضَّةِ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ فَإِذَا اخْتَلَفَ النَّوْعَانِ فَلَا بَأْسَ وَاحِدٌ بِعَشَرَةٍ»
