[Machine] I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a funeral procession passed by. He asked, "What is this?" They replied, "It is the funeral of so and so, who used to love Allah and His Messenger, and act obediently towards Allah and strive in His cause." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is obligatory, it is obligatory, it is obligatory." Then another funeral procession passed by, and they said, "It is the funeral of so and so, who used to despise Allah and His Messenger, and disobey Allah and strive in sins." The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is obligatory, it is obligatory, it is obligatory." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, your statement about the funeral and praising it, you praised the first and condemned the second." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Yes, indeed, O Abu Bakr. Verily, Allah has angels who convey the words of the people to other humans, whether they are good or bad."  

كُنْتُ قَاعِدًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَمُرَّ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذِهِ؟» قَالُوا جِنَازَةُ فُلَانِيِّ الْفُلَانِ كَانَ يُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَعْمَلُ بِطَاعَةِ اللَّهِ وَيَسْعَى فِيهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ» وَمُرَّ بِجِنَازَةٍ أُخْرَى قَالُوا جِنَازَةُ فُلَانٍ الْفُلَانِيِّ كَانَ يُبْغِضُ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَعْمَلُ بِمَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ وَيَسْعَى فِيهَا فَقَالَ «وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ» فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَوْلُكَ فِي الْجِنَازَةِ وَالثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْهَا أُثْنِيَ عَلَى الْأَوَّلِ خَيْرٌ وَعَلَى الْآخَرِ شَرٌّ فَقُلْتَ فِيهَا وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَلَائِكَةً تَنْطِقُ عَلَى أَلْسِنَةِ بَنِي آدَمَ بِمَا فِي الْمَرْءِ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ وَالشَّرِّ»
