"إِنْ عَطِبَ مِنْهَا شَىْءٌ لخَشيتَ علَيْه مَوْتًا فَاذبَحْهَا ثُمَّ اغْمِسْ نَعْلَهَا فِى دَمهَا، ثم اضْربْ بِهَا صَفْحَتَهَا، وَلا تَطْعَمْ منْهَا أنْتَ وَلا أحَدٌ منْ أَهْلِ رُفْقَتك وَاقْسمهَا" .

“If any of them becomes unfit and you are afraid that it will die, then slaughter it, dip the sandal (tied around its neck) in its blood and place it on its side, but neither you nor any of your companions should eat anything from it.”

[AI] Anas ibn Malik, the companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , narrated to me that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him, he said, "I came back and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what should I do with the surplus of the sacrificial animal?' He said, 'Slaughter it, then dip its sandals into its blood, and then put it on its surface or on its side. Neither you nor anyone from your companions should eat from it.'"
حَدَّثَنِي الْأَنْصَارِيُّ صَاحِبُ بُدْنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا بَعَثَهُ قَالَ رَجَعْتُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا تَأْمُرُنِي بِمَا عَطِبَ مِنْهَا؟ قَالَ انْحَرْهَا ثُمَّ اصْبُغْ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا ثُمَّضَعْهَا عَلَى صَفْحَتِهَا أَوْ عَلَى جَنْبِهَا وَلَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا أَنْتَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ رُفْقَتِكَ
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ sent me a gift and said, "If a part of it becomes faulty, then sacrifice it and then strike his slipper with its blood, then strike his face with it, and neither you nor your companions should eat it, and keep a distance between it and the people."
بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَعِي هَدْيًا وَقَالَ إِذَا عَطِبَ شَيْءٌ مِنْهَا فَانْحَرْهُ ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ نَعْلَهُ فِي دَمِهِ ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ بِهِ صَفْحَتَهُ وَلَا تَأْكُلْ أَنْتَ وَلَا أَهْلُ رُفْقَتِكَ وَخَلِّ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ
[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to send out meat and would say, "If there is anything wrong with it, then fear for it, so sacrifice it and dip its sandal in its blood and strike its surface, and do not eat from it, neither you nor anyone from your companions."

[AI] I was informed by Al-Ansari, the companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , that when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sent him on a mission, he said: "I returned and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what should I do with the sacrificial animal if it is sick?' He said, 'Slaughter it, then dip its sandals in its blood, and then place them on its hide or on its side. Neither you nor any of your companions should eat from it.'"

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ أَكَلِ سَائِرِ الْبُدْنِ إِذَا زَحَفَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهَا إِذَا نَحْرِهَا
[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed a man from Aslam and sent eighteen men with him. The man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what if some harm comes to me from them?' He said, 'Slaughter a sheep and dye its hooves with its blood. Then strike your face with it, and none of them or your companions will be harmed.'"
بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ وَبَعَثَ مَعَهُ ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ بَدَنَةً فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ أُزْحِفَ عَلَيَّ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ قَالَ «انْحَرْهَا ثُمَّ اصْبِغْ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ بِهِ صَفْحَتَهَا وَلَا تَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا أَنْتَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ رُفْقَتِكَ»

Then dip its hoof in its blood, then strike its forehead with it. And do not eat from it, neither you nor any of your companions, and distribute it (among the poor).' And the wording is from the Hadith of Yazid bin Zurai' and Khalid bin Al-Harith, Dhuayb bin Qabisa said."

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ sent a companion with camels and commanded him that if any of them become sick, he should sacrifice it, dip its shoe in its blood, strike its cheek with it, and prohibit himself and his companions from eating from it, and to distribute it among the people.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ مَعَهُ بِالْبُدْنِ وَأَمَرَهُ إِنْ عَطِبَ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ أَنْ يَنْحَرَهَا وَأَنْ يَغْمِسَ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا وَيَضْرِبَ بِهِ صَفْحَتَهَا وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ لَا يَطْعَمَ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ رُفْقَتِهِ وَأَنْ يَقْسِمَهَا
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to send with him the sacrifice and then he would say: "If something is wrong with her (the sacrifice), then I fear her death, so slaughter her, then dip her sandals in her blood, then hit her with it (the sandals), and do not feed her, neither you nor anyone from your companions."
النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَبْعَثُ مَعَهُ بِالْبُدْنِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ إِنْ عَطِبَ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ فَخَشِيتَ عَلَيْهَا مَوْتًا فَانْحَرْهَا ثُمَّ اغْمِسْ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ بِهِ صَفْحَتَهَا وَلَا تَطْعَمْهَا أَنْتَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ رِفْقَتِكَ
"إِنْ عَرَضَ لَهُما فَانْحَرْهُمَا وَاغْمس النَّعْلِ في دمَائهِمَا، ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ بِه صَفْحَتَيْهِمَا حَتَّى يُعْلَمَ أنَّهُمَا بَدَنَتَان وَلَا تَأكُلْ منْهَا أَنْتَ وَلا أحَدٌ منْ رُفْقَتكَ، دَعُوهَا لمن بعدكم" .
"بَعَثَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ بثَمَانِىَ عَشْرَةَ بَدَنَةً مَعَ رَجُلٍ، وَأَمَرَهُ فِيهَا بِأَمْرِهِ، فَانْطَلَقَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ أَزْحَفَ (*) عَلَيْنَا مِنْهَا شَىْءٌ؟ قَالَ: انْحَرْها ثُمَّ اغْمسْ نَعْلَهَا في دَمِهَا، ثُمَّ اجْعَلْ عَلَى صَفْحَتِهَا، وَلَا تَأكُلْ مِنْهَا أنْتَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْل رفقَتكَ".
