ahmad:7034And Dhakar ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb from his father from his grandfather

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once passed by a man who had stabbed another man in the leg with a horn. The injured man said, "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to retaliate." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised him, "Do not hasten, wait until your wound heals." However, the man insisted on seeking revenge, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ allowed him to do so. Later on, the one seeking revenge recovered and the one being sought for revenge came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, I sought revenge and my companion has healed?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Did I not command you not to seek revenge until your wound healed? But you disobeyed me, so may Allah distance you from His mercy and may your wound cease to hurt." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ issued a command that anyone with a wound should not seek revenge until their wound heals, and only then may they seek retaliation.
