"عَنْ عَائِشَةَ: أَنَّهَا سُئِلَتْ: أَيَّةُ صَلَاةِ أعْجَبُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُدَوامَ عَلَيْهَا؟ قَالَتْ: كَانَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ يُطِيلُ فِيهِنَّ القِيَامَ، ويَكُثر فِيهِنَّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ فأمَّا ما لَمْ يَدَعْ صَحِيحًا وَلَا مَرِيضًا، غَائِبًا وَلَا شَاهِدًا فَرَكْعَتَانِ قَبْلَ صَلَاة الغَدَاة".
“My father sent word to ‘Aishah, asking which prayer the Prophet ﷺ most liked to perform regularly. She said: ‘He used to perform four Rak’ah before the Zuhr, in which he would stand for a long time and bow and prostrate perfectly.’”
أَرْسَلَ أَبِي إِلَى عَائِشَةَ أَىُّ صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يُوَاظِبَ عَلَيْهَا؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ يُطِيلُ فِيهِنَّ الْقِيَامَ وَيُحْسِنُ فِيهِنَّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ
[AI] My father sent a woman to Aisha asking her which prayer was most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for him to adhere to. She said, "He used to pray four units of prayer before Dhuhr, in which he would prolong his standing and perfect his bowing and prostration. As for the prayers he did not abandon, whether he was healthy or sick, present or absent, or witnessing, he would perform two units before Fajr."
