"عَنْ يَحيى بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِى نُعَيْمِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ عُبَيْدُ بن عُوَيْمِرٍ قَالَ: وَقَعَ عَمِّى عَلَى وَلِيدَتِهِ فَحَمَلتْ فَولِدَ لَهُ غُلَامٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ هَمَّامٌ وَذَلِكَ فِى الجَاهِلِيَّةِ، فَأتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَمِّىِ وكَلَّمَهُ فِى ابْنِهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ : يَسْلَمُ ابْنُكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ، فَانْطَلَقَ فَأَخَذَ ابْنَهُ فَجَاءَ بِهِ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ وَجَاءَ مَوْلَى الْغُلامِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَعَرضَ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غُلامَيْنِ فَقَالَ: خُذْ أَحَدَهُمَا وَدَعْ لِلرَّجُلِ ابْنَهُ، فَأَخَذَ غُلامًا وَتَرَكَ لَهُ ابْنَهُ".

[Machine] It is said that he was called "Humam" in the time of ignorance, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited his uncle and talked to him about his son. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Accept your son as much as you can." So he went and took his son and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ , and the bondman of the boy came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ presented two boys to him. He said, "Take one of them and leave the man his son." So he took one of the boys and left his son for him.
