suyuti:333a –

"Do you know what ʿi’ḍah (calumny, slander, or causing separation) is? It is spreading news between people to ruin their relationships."  

السيوطي:٣٣٣a – عن أنس

«أتدرون ما الْعَضْهُ (العِضَةُ)؟ نقْل الحديثِ من بعض الناسِ إلى بعضٍ ليُفْسدوا بينهم»

from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Do you know what ʿi’ḍah (calumny, slander, or causing separation) is?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet said, "It is spreading news between people to ruin their relationships."  

البيهقي:٢١١٥٩ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ سِنَانٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْعِضَةُ؟» قَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: «نَقْلُ الْحَدِيثِ مِنْ بَعْضِ النَّاسِ إِلَى بَعْضٍ لِيُفْسِدَ بَيْنَهُمْ»
