[Machine] She (the woman) said, "O Messenger of Allah, enlighten us about performing ghusl (ritual purification) from janabah (major impurity)." He (the Prophet) said, "You should pour water on the roots of your hair and cleanse your skin. Surely, those who do not perform ghusl properly are like a tree that has been touched by water, but its leaves do not grow and its roots do not become moist. So, fear Allah and perform ghusl properly, for indeed it is part of the trust that you have been entrusted with and the secrets that have been entrusted to you." She (the woman) said, "I asked, 'How much water is sufficient for washing the head, O Messenger of Allah?' He (the Prophet) said, 'Three handfuls.'"
