Collected by Bukhārī, Muslim, Nasāʾī, Ibn Mājah, Nasāʾī's Kubrá, SuyūṭīMessenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not swear by your fathers."
رَسُولُ اللَّهُ ﷺ لاَ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ
Do not swear by idols, nor by your fathers.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَحْلِفُوا بِالطَّوَاغِي وَلاَ بِآبَائِكُمْ
"Do not swear by your forefathers or by false gods (At-Tawaghit)."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ وَلاَ بِالطَّوَاغِيتِ
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not take oaths by idols nor by your forefathers. "
