He said: "And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah, it is equal to the reward of freeing a slave.'"

[AI] We surrounded the fortress of Ta'if with the Prophet ﷺ, and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever throws an arrow for the sake of Allah and hits the target, he will have a place in Paradise." A man then said, "O Prophet of Allah, if I throw an arrow and hit the target, will I have a place in Paradise?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Throw it." So he threw and hit the target. The Prophet ﷺ said, "He will have sixteen arrows on that day." Then he mentioned its meaning.
حَاصَرْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِصْنَ الطَّائِفِ فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِيسَبِيلِ اللهِ فَبَلَغَهُ فَلَهُ دَرَجَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنْ رَمَيْتُ فَبَلَغْتُ فَلِي دَرَجَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ فَرَمَى فَبَلَغَ قَالَ فَبَلَغْتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ سَهْمًا فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ
