"مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ علمًا مِمَّا يُبْتَغَى بِهِ وَجْهُ اللهِ - ﷻ - لَا يَتَعَلَّمهُ إلا لِيصِيبَ بِهِ عَرَضًا مِن الدُّنْيَا لَمْ {يَجِدْ } عَرْفَ الجَنَّةِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ" .
The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone acquires knowledge that should be sought seeking the Face of Allah, but he acquires it only to get some worldly advantage, he will not experience the arf, i.e. the fragrance, of Paradise.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ عِلْمًا مِمَّا يُبْتَغَى بِهِ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ﷻ لاَ يَتَعَلَّمُهُ إِلاَّ لِيُصِيبَ بِهِ عَرَضًا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا لَمْ يَجِدْ عَرْفَ الْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَعْنِي رِيحَهَا
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever acquires knowledge by which the pleasure of Allah is sought, but he only acquires it for the purpose of worldly gain, will not smell the fragrance of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection.'" (Hasan) Another chain with similar wording.

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Whoever learns knowledge seeking the pleasure of Allah, but not for any worldly gain, will not attain it except that it will lead him to a purpose of the Hereafter. Falih said, 'Its recognition is its fragrance.' This hadith has been narrated with two authentic chains of transmission from Jabir ibn Abdullah and Ka'ab ibn Malik."
