Abu Dharr states that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "A person who knowingly claims a father other than his own has disbelieved. A person who claims to be from a people when he is not one of them will take his place in the Fire. A person who calls a man an unbeliever or says, 'Enemy of Allah,' when that is not the case will have that come back on him."

سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنِ ادَّعَى لِغَيْرِ أَبِيهِ وَهُوَ يَعْلَمُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ وَمَنِ ادَّعَى قَوْمًا لَيْسَ هُوَ مِنْهُمْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَنْ دَعَا رَجُلاً بِالْكُفْرِ أَوْ قَالَ عَدُوُّ اللهِ وَلَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ إِلا حَارَتْ عَلَيْهِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If somebody claims to be the son of any other than his real father knowingly, he but disbelieves in Allah, and if somebody claims to belong to some folk to whom he does not belong, let such a person take his place in the (Hell) Fire."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ مِنْ رَجُلٍ ادَّعَى لِغَيْرِ أَبِيهِ وَهْوَ يَعْلَمُهُ إِلاَّ كَفَرَ وَمَنِ ادَّعَى قَوْمًا لَيْسَ لَهُ فِيهِمْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ

heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "No person who claimed someone else as his father other than ˹his own˺ knowingly has committed nothing but kufr (infidelity). He who made a claim of a thing that does not belong to him is not from us and he should prepare his abode in Hellfire."

"And he who labeled anyone with kufr (disbelief) or called him an enemy of Allah while he is not, then it gets ˹thrown˺ back on him."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «لَيْسَ مِنْ رَجُلٍ ادَّعَى لِغَيْرِ أَبِيهِ وَهُوَ يَعْلَمُهُ إِلاَّ كَفَرَ؛ وَمَنِ ادَّعَى مَا لَيْسَ لَهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا وَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ؛»

«وَمَنْ دَعَا رَجُلاً بِالْكُفْرِ أَوْ قَالَ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَلَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ إِلاَّ حَارَ عَلَيْهِ۔»

No person who claimed knowingly anyone else as his father besides (his own) committed nothing but infidelity, and he who made a claim of anything, which (in fact) did not belong to him, is not amongst us; he should make his abode in Fire, and he who labeled anyone with unbelief or called him the enemy of Allah, and he was in fact not so, it rebounded on him. [AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever claims to be from someone other than his father, knowing that he is not, has disbelieved. And whoever claims something that is not his, he is not from us and should take his seat in the Fire. And whoever accuses a man of disbelief or says he is an enemy of Allah, when it is not true, then he has cast upon himself a great burden or injustice. It was not as he claimed."
