"سَألَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِى مَسْجد بَنِى مُعَاوِيَةَ ثَلاثًا، فَأُعْطِىَ اثْنَتَيْنِ، وَمَنَعَهُ وَاحدَةً، سَأَلَه أَنْ لاَ يُهْلِكَ أُمَّتَهُ جُوعًا، وَلاَ يُظهِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوّا، فَأُعْطِيَهَا، وَسَأَلَهُ أَنْ لاَ يَجْعَلَ بَأسَهُمْ بَيْنَهُم فَمُنِعَها".
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked in the Masjid of Bani Mu'awiya three times, and he was given two and denied one. He asked Allah not to let his nation perish from hunger and not to expose them to enemies, so he was granted it. He also asked Allah not to cause conflict among his people, so it was denied.
