And preferred the life of the world,  

and preferred the life of this world, by pursuing ˹carnal˺ desires,
القرآن:٧٩:٣٨

وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا  

{وآثر الحياة الدنيا} باتباع الشهوات.
