"I used to sell camels at Al-Baqi and I would sell Dinars in exchange for Dirhams. I came to the Prophet in the house of Hafsah and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I want to ask you: I sell camels in Al-Baqi and I sell Dinars in exchange for Dirhams. He said: 'There is nothing wrong with it if you take the price on that day, unless you depart when there is still unfinished business between you both (buyer and seller)."'

كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ الإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّنَانِيرِ وَآخُذُ الدَّرَاهِمَ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِ حَفْصَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ إِنِّي أَبِيعُ الإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّنَانِيرِ وَآخُذُ الدَّرَاهِمَ قَالَ لاَ بَأْسَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَهَا بِسِعْرِ يَوْمِهَا مَا لَمْ تَفْتَرِقَا وَبَيْنَكُمَا شَىْءٌ

[Machine] I used to sell camels at Al-Baqi' and I would accept paper money in exchange. Then I would take the paper money and give it in exchange for coins. I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in the house of Hafsah, and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I seek your guidance. I used to sell camels at Al-Baqi' and I would accept this (paper money) in exchange for this (coins), and this (coins) in exchange for this (paper money). He said, "There is no problem if you take them at their current value as long as they haven't parted ways between you."

كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ الْإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَأَقْبِضُ الْوَرِقَ مِنَ الدَّنَانِيرِ وَالدَّنَانِيرَ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِ حَفْصَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ رُوَيْدَكَ أَسْأَلُكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ الْإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَأَقْبِضُ هَذِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ وَهَذِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَهَا بِسِعْرِ يَوْمِهَا مَا لَمْ تَفْتَرِقَا وَبَيْنَكُمَا شَيْءٌ

I used to sell camels at al-Baqi for dinars and take dirhams for them, and sell for dirhams and take dinars for them. I would take these for these and give these for these. I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who was in the house of Hafsah. I said: Messenger of Allah , take it easy, I shall ask you (a question): I sell camels at al-Baqi'. I sell (them) for dinars and take dirhams and I sell for dirhams and take dinars. I take these for these, and give these for these. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: There is no harm in taking them at the current rate so long as you do not separate leaving something to be settled. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3354)

كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ الْإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّنَانِيرِ وَآخُذُ الدَّرَاهِمَ وَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّرَاهِمِ وَآخُذُ الدَّنَانِيرَ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ أَقْبِضُ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رُوَيْدَكَ أَسْأَلُكَ إِنِّي أَبِيعُ الْإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّنَانِيرِ وَآخُذُ الدَّرَاهِمَ وَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّرَاهِمِ وَآخُذُ الدَّنَانِيرَ قَالَ «لَا بَأْسَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ بِسِعْرِ يَوْمِكَ مَا لَمْ تَفْتَرِقَا وَبَيْنَكُمَا شَيْءٌ»

"I used to sell camels at Al-Baqi and I would sell Dinars in exchange for Dirhams. "I came to the Prophet and said: 'Wait, I want to ask you something. I sell camels in Al-Baqi with a price set in Dinars but I accept Dirhams instead.' He said: 'There is nothing wrong with it if you take the price on that day, still unfinished business between you both (buyer and seller)"' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4589)

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ رُوَيْدَكَ أَسْأَلُكَ إِنِّي أَبِيعُ الْإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ بِدَنَانِيرَ وَآخُذُ الدَّرَاهِمَ قَالَ «لَا بَأْسَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ بِسِعْرِ يَوْمِهَا مَا لَمْ تَفْتَرِقَا وَبَيْنَكُمَا شَيْءٌ»
