We set out (to Mecca) in a state of Ihram. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who has the sacrificial animal with him should remain in the state of Ihram, but he who has not the sacrificial animal with him should put off Ihram. As I had not the sacrificial animal with me, I put off Ihram. And since Zubair (her husband) - had the sacrificial animal with him, he did not put off Ihram. She (Asma) said: I put on my clothes and then went out and sat by Zabair, whereupon he said: Go away from me, whereupon I said: Do you fear that I would jump upon you?  

عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ قَالَتْ خَرَجْنَا مُحْرِمِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْىٌ فَلْيَقُمْ عَلَى إِحْرَامِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْىٌ فَلْيَحْلِلْ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَعِي هَدْىٌ فَحَلَلْتُ وَكَانَ مَعَ الزُّبَيْرِ هَدْىٌ فَلَمْ يَحْلِلْ قَالَتْ فَلَبِسْتُ ثِيَابِي ثُمَّ خَرَجْتُ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَى الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَالَ قُومِي عَنِّي فَقُلْتُ أَتَخْشَى أَنْ أَثِبَ عَلَيْكَ  

“We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Ihram. The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him, let him remain in Ihram. Whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him, let him exit Ihram.’ She said: ‘I did not have a sacrificial animal with me, so I exited Ihram, but Zubair had a sacrificial animal with him, so he did not exit Ihram. So I put on my regular clothes and came to Zubair, and he said: ‘Go away from me.’ I said: ‘Are you afraid I am going to jump on you?!’”  

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُحْرِمِينَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْىٌ فَلْيُقِمْ عَلَى إِحْرَامِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْىٌ فَلْيَحْلِلْ قَالَتْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَعِي هَدْىٌ فَأَحْلَلْتُ وَكَانَ مَعَ الزُّبَيْرِ هَدْىٌ فَلَمْ يَحِلَّ فَلَبِسْتُ ثِيَابِي وَجِئْتُ إِلَى الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَالَ قُومِي عَنِّي فَقُلْتُ أَتَخْشَى أَنْ أَثِبَ عَلَيْكَ  

“We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Ihram. The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him, let him remain in Ihram. النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيُتِمَّ وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ فَلْيَقُمْ عَلَى إِحْرَامِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيَحْلِلْ قَالَتْ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَعِي هَدْيٌ فَحَلَلْتُ وَكَانَ مَعَ الزُّبَيْرِ زَوْجِهَا هَدْيٌ فَلَمْ يَحِلَّ قَالَتْ فَلَبِسْتُ ثِيَابِي وَحَلَلْتُ فَجِئْتُ إِلَى الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَالَ قُومِي عَنِّي قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ أَتَخْشَى أَنْ أَثِبَ عَلَيْكَ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him, let him enter into the state of ihram; and whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him, let him make himself permissible (for normal activities)." I did not have a sacrificial animal with me, so I made myself permissible (for normal activities), but Zubair had a sacrificial animal with him, so he did not make himself permissible. I then put on my regular clothes and came and sat next to Zubair. My people spoke ill of me to him, so I said, "Do you fear that I may harm you?"  

النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيَقُمْ عَلَى إِحْرَامِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيُحْلِلْ» فَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَعِي هَدْيٌ فَحَلَلْتُ وَكَانَ مَعَ الزُّبَيْرِ فَلَمْ يَحْلِلْ فَلَبِسْتُ ثِيَابِي ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَالَ قَوْمِي عَنِّي فَقُلْتُ تَخْشَى أَنْ أَثِبَ عَلَيْكَ  

[Machine] "Whoever has the sacrificial animal with him should proceed to perform the rituals of Hajj, and whoever does not have the sacrificial animal should enter into the state of Ihram for Hajj. As for me, I did not have a sacrificial animal, so I entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj. And Zubair had a sacrificial animal with him, so he did not enter into the state of Ihram for Hajj." She said, "So I changed into my Ihram garments and then went out. I sat with Zubair, and he said, 'Stand up and move away from me.' I said, 'Are you afraid that I will step on you?'"
