"I have come pledging to emigrate (Hijrah), and I have left my parents weeping." He said: "Go back to them, and make them smile as you made them weep." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4163)
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي جِئْتُ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ وَلَقَدْ تَرَكْتُ أَبَوَيَّ يَبْكِيَانِ قَالَ «فَارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمَا فَأَضْحِكْهُمَا كَمَا أَبْكَيْتَهُمَا»

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ جِئْتُ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ وَتَرَكْتُ أَبَوَىَّ يَبْكِيَانِ فَقَالَ ارْجِعْ عَلَيْهِمَا فَأَضْحِكْهُمَا كَمَا أَبْكَيْتَهُمَا
“A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I have come seeking to go out in Jihad with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter. I have come even though my parents are weeping.’ He said: ‘Go back to them and make them smile as you have made them weep.’”

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was visited by a man who wanted to pledge allegiance to him for the purpose of migration. The man was rude to him, so the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "I did not come to you so that I would make both of his parents cry, meaning the man's parents. He (the Prophet) said, "Go back and make them (the man's parents) laugh as you made them cry."
أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَجُلٌ يُبَايِعُهُ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ وَغَلَّظَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى أَبْكَيْتُهُمَا يَعْنِي وَالِدَيْهِ قَالَ ارْجِعْ فَأَضْحِكْهُمَا كَمَا أَبْكَيْتَهُمَا
