[Machine] A man from among the Muslims during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, leaving behind six slaves. He had emancipated them all before his death and did not leave any wealth other than them. So, it was raised to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who then divided them amongst themselves, freeing two of them and distributing the remaining four among the other companions.  

الكبرى للنسائي:٤٩٥٩أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ صُدْرَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تُوُفِّيَ وَتَرَكَ سِتَّةً مِنَ الرَّقِيقِ وَأَنَّهُ أَعْتَقَهُمْ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ أَجْمَعِينَ وَلَمْ يَدَعْ مَالًا غَيْرَهُمْ فَرُفِعَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «فَأَقْرَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً»

A man emancipated six slaved at the time of his death and he had no other property. The Prophet ﷺ was informed about it. He cast lots among them, emancipated two and retained four in slavery.

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً

[Machine] A man freed six slaves on his deathbed, despite not having any other possessions except for them, according to the agreement of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided them into portions and freed two, while he assigned the remaining four to another owner.
