The end of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was known by the takbir (pronounced aloud).  

أبو داود:١٠٠٢ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي مَعْبَدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

كَانَ يُعْلَمُ انْقِضَاءُ صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ  

ahmad:1933 – Sufyān > ʿAmr > Abū Maʿbad > Ibn ʿAbbās
