He asked 'Abdullah bin 'Umar about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: "Allahu Akbar" every time he went down and "Allahu Akbar" every time he came up, then he said: "As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah) to his right and: As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah) to his left."  

عَنْ صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كُلَّمَا وَضَعَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كُلَّمَا رَفَعَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ  

The Prophet ﷺ said: "It is as if I can see the whiteness of his cheek, saying to his right: As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah) and to his left: As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah)." (Sahih  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَيَاضِ خَدِّهِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ  

I offered prayer along with the Prophet ﷺ. He would give the salutation to his right side (saying): Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; and to his left side (saying): Peace be upon you and mercy of Allah.  

صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَكَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ  

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say the Salam to his right and to his left, until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen (saying): ‘As-salamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah, as-salamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah.’”  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ  

He asked 'Abdullah bin 'Umar about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كُلَّمَا وَضَعَ وَكُلَّمَا رَفَعَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَى يَسَارِهِ  

"I said to Ibn 'Umar: "Tell me about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; how was it?" He mentioned the takbir and he mentioned: As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah) to his right and: As-salamu 'alaykum (peace be upon you) to his left." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1321)   

أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ؟ قَالَ فَذَكَرَ التَّكْبِيرَ كُلَّمَا وَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ وَكُلَّمَا رَفَعَهُ وَذَكَرَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ  

[Machine] Regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he used to say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the greatest) every time he raised his hands and every time he placed them in the bowing and prostration positions. And when he finished, he said "As-Salamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi" (peace and mercy of Allah be upon you) twice, first to his right and then to his left.  

عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى قَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كُلَّمَا رَفَعَ وَكُلَّمَا وَضَعَ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَإِذَا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ  

[Machine] Regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Allah is greater every time Allah is greater every time he lowers (his hands), then he says, "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah" to his right "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah" to his left. Its chain of narration was established by Hajjaj ibn Muhammad and a group, and parts of it were omitted by Ibn Jurayj. Abdul-Aziz ibn Muhammad Ad-Darawardi differed in it from Amr ibn Yahya. And whoever establishes it has an argument and is not harmed by the differing of those who opposed him. Allah knows best.  

عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كُلَّمَا وَضَعَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كُلَّمَا رَفَعَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَقَامَ إِسْنَادَهُ حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَجَمَاعَةٌ وَقَصَرَ بِهِ بَعْضُهُمْ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ وَاخْتَلَفَ فِيهِ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ عَلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى وَمَنْ أَقَامَهُ حُجَّةٌ فَلَا يَضُرُّهُ خِلَافُ مَنْ خَالَفَهُ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
