The Prophet ﷺ ordered (Muslims) to give one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr. The people rewarded two Mudds of wheat as equal to that.

أَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِزَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ؓ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ عِدْلَهُ مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ

Ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prescribed Zakat-ul-Fitr of Ramadan one sa' of dates or one sa' of barley for every individual among the Muslims (whether) free man or slave, male or female, young or old.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَرَضَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ نَفْسٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حُرٍّ أَوْ عَبْدٍ أَوْ رَجُلٍ أَوِ امْرَأَةٍ صَغِيرٍ أَوْ كَبِيرٍ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ

"The Messenger of Allah enjoined Sadaqatul Fitr, a Sa' of barley or a Sa of dates or a Sa' of cottage cheese."

فَرَضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ

the Messenger of Allah enjoined Zakatul-Fitr, one Sa of dates or one Sa of barley.Abdullah said: The people made two Mudd (equal to half of a Sa) of wheat as its equivalent.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِزَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ عِدْلَهُ مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ

that the Messenger of Allah enjoined Sadaqatul-Fitr, one Sa of dates, one Sa of barley, or one Sa of Sult (a kind of barley without skin on it, resembling wheat).

عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ مُؤَذِّنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةِ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ سُلْتٍ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded the payment of Zakat al-Fitr from every free or slave, young or old, one saa’ of wheat or one saa’ of dates." Ibn Umar said, "People later replaced it with a measure of barley."

«أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِزَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ عَنْ كُلِّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ حُرٍّ أَوْ عَبْدٍ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ» قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ «فَعَدَلَهُ النَّاسُ بِمُدَّيْنِ مِنْ بُرٍّ»

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up as a preacher and ordered the charity of Fitr, a saa' (measurement) of dates or a saa' of barley, for everyone be it an individual or for each person in the family, both young and old, a saa' of dates or a saa' of wheat or a saa' of raisins."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ خَطِيبًا وَأَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةِ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ عَنْ كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ أَوْ عَنْ كُلِّ رَأْسٍ مِنَ الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ صَاعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ قَمْحٍ»

«أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِزَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ حُرٍّ وَعَبْدٍ وَصَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ صَاعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعٌ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , commanded the giving of Zakat al-Fitr on behalf of every free Muslim, young or old, man or woman, by giving a saa' (measurement unit) of barley or a saa' of dates. The people were to bring it to him in the form of wheat debt or the equivalent.
