The Prophet ﷺ said, "The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant, which the wind bends lt sometimes and some other time it makes it straight. And the example of a hypocrite is that of a pine tree which keeps straight till once it is uprooted suddenly.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَالْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ تُفَيِّئُهَا الرِّيحُ مَرَّةً وَتَعْدِلُهَا مَرَّةً وَمَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَالأَرْزَةِ لاَ تَزَالُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ انْجِعَافُهَا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَقَالَ زَكَرِيَّاءُ حَدَّثَنِي سَعْدٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ كَعْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ كَعْبٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

Ka'b reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that the similitude of a believer is that of a standing crop in a field which is shaken by wind and then it comes to its original position but it stands at its roots. The similitude of a non-believer is that of a cypress tree which stands on its roots and nothing shakes it but it is uprooted (with) one (violent stroke).

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَمَثَلِ الْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ تُفِيئُهَا الرِّيحُ وَتَصْرَعُهَا مَرَّةً وَتَعْدِلُهَا أُخْرَى حَتَّى تَهِيجَ وَمَثَلُ الْكَافِرِ كَمَثَلِ الأَرْزَةِ الْمُجْذِيَةِ عَلَى أَصْلِهَا لاَ يُفِيئُهَا شَىْءٌ حَتَّى يَكُونَ انْجِعَافُهَا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً

[Machine] "Abdulrahman doubted that it was Sufyan reporting from his father. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The example of a believer is like a plant that is shaken by the wind and then straightens up again. The example of a disbeliever is like a huge tree that stands firmly, unaffected by anything, until it is uprooted in one go.' Abdulrahman's doubt was correct."

عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ هُوَ شَكَّ يَعْنِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَمَثَلِ الْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ تُقِيمُهَا الرِّيَاحُ تَعْدِلُهَا مَرَّةً وَتَصْرَعُهَا أُخْرَى حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ أَجَلُهُ وَمَثَلُ الْكَافِرِ مَثَلُ الْأَرْزَةِ الْمُجْذِيَةِ عَلَى أَصْلِهَا لَا يُعِلُّهَا شَيْءٌ حَتَّى يَكُونَ انْجِحَافُهَا يَخْتَلِعُهَا أَوْ انْجِعَافُهَا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً شَكَّ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The example of the believer is like that of the crop that is swayed by the wind, at times it leans and at times it stands straight. And the example of the disbeliever is like that of a palm tree that remains firm on its roots until it becomes completely dry."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مِثْلُ الْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ تُفَيِّئُهَا الرِّيَاحُ تَعْدِلُهَا مَرَّةً وَتَصْرَعُهَا أُخْرَى وَمَثَلُ الْكَافِرِ مِثْلَ الْأَرْزَةِ الْمُجْذِبَةِ عَلَى أَصْلِهَا حَتَّى يَكُونَ انْجِفَافُهَا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The example of a believer is like a plant that is blown by the wind and then straightened by it, until its time comes. And the example of a disbeliever is like a cedar tree that does not bend until it breaks once."

"مَثَلُ الْمُؤمِن كَالْخَامة () مِن الزَّرع، تُفَيِّئهَا الرَّيحُ مرَّةً، وتَعْدلُهَا أُخْري ( *) ومثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ، كالأرْزَةِ لَا تَزَالُ حَتَّى يكُونَ انْجعَافُهَا مَرَّةً واحِدةً".

"مثَلُ المؤْمِن كمثلِ الخَامة مِن الزرْعِ تَفيئُها الرِّياحُ تَعْدِلُهَا مرَّةً وتُقِيمُها أخْرى حتَّى يأتِيَه أَجلُهُ، ومثَلُ الكَافِرِ كَمثَلِ الأَرْزَةِ الْمُجذِية علَى أَصلِهَا لا يقِيمهَا حتى يكُونَ انجعافُهَا (*) مرةً واحِدةً".
