٤٤۔ كتاب فضائل الصحابة ؓ
Hastening to do good deeds even when it is difficult
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a sword on the Day of Uhud and said, “Who will take this from me?” They stretched out their hands, each of them saying, “Me, me.” He said, “Then who will take it with its due right?” The people hesitated. Then Simak b. Kharashah, Abu Dujanah, said, “I will take it with its due right.” So he took it and split the heads of the polytheists with it.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ سَيْفًا يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ: «مَنْ يَأْخُذُ مِنِّي هَذَا؟» فَبَسَطُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ يَقُولُ أَنَا أَنَا۔ قَالَ: «فَمَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ بِحَقِّهِ؟» قَالَ فَأَحْجَمَ الْقَوْمُ، فَقَالَ سِمَاكُ بْنُ خَرَشَةَ أَبُو دُجَانَةَ: أَنَا آخُذُهُ بِحَقِّهِ۔ قَالَ فَأَخَذَهُ فَفَلَقَ بِهِ هَامَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
