Hastening to do good deeds even when it is difficult

muslim:2470Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > ʿAffān > Ḥammād b. Salamah > Thābit > Anas

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a sword on the Day of Uhud and said, “Who will take this from me?” They stretched out their hands, each of them saying, “Me, me.” He said, “Then who will take it with its due right?” The people hesitated. Then Simak b. Kharashah, Abu Dujanah, said, “I will take it with its due right.” So he took it and split the heads of the polytheists with it.
