13.7 The meaning of the Prophet's words: "The two months of 'Id cannot both be incomplete"

١٣۔٧ باب بَيَانِ مَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ ﷺ شَهْرَا عِيدٍ لَا يَنْقُصَانِ

muslim:1089a – Yaḥyá b. Yaḥyá > Yazīd b. Zurayʿ > Khālid > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Bakrah from his father

The two months of 'Id, Ramadan and Dhu'l-Hijja (are not incomplete).  

مسلم:١٠٨٩a – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ شَهْرَا عِيدٍ لاَ يَنْقُصَانِ رَمَضَانُ وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ  

muslim:1089b – Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > Muʿtamir b. Sulaymān > Isḥāq b. Sūwayd And Khālid > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Bakrah > Abū Bakrah > Nabī Allāh ﷺ

The months of 'Id are not incomplete. And in the hadith narrated by Khalid (the words are):" The months, of 'Id are Ramadan and Dhu'l-Hijja."  

مسلم:١٠٨٩b – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ وَخَالِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ شَهْرَا عِيدٍ لاَ يَنْقُصَانِ فِي حَدِيثِ خَالِدٍ شَهْرَا عِيدٍ رَمَضَانُ وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ
