malik:16-13 – Yaḥyá > Mālik > Hishām b. ʿUrwah > Asmāʾ Bint Abū Bakr

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa that Asma bint Abi Bakr said to her family, "Perfume my clothes with incense when I die and then embalm me. Do not put any of the embalming substance on my shroud, and do not follow me with a burning torch."  

مالك:١٦-١٣ – حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لأَهْلِهَا أَجْمِرُوا ثِيَابِي إِذَا مِتُّ ثُمَّ حَنِّطُونِي وَلاَ تَذُرُّوا عَلَى كَفَنِي حِنَاطًا وَلاَ تَتْبَعُونِي بِنَارٍ
