It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands when he entered prayer, and when he bowed in Ruku’.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ
It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands when he entered prayer, and when he bowed in Ruku’.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ
I saw the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands when he uttered the takbir (Allah is most great), when he bowed and when he raised his head after bowing until he brought them to the lobes of his ears.
رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began his prayer, he raised his hands extensively.
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ مَدًّا
Nafi' said: Ibn Umar used to lengthen his prayer before the Friday prayer and would offer two rak'ahs after it in his house. He used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would do that.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
Nafi’ said “Ibn ‘Umar used to nap for a short while at Batha’ (i.e, Al Muhassab) and then enter Makkah.” He thought that Apostle of Allaah ﷺ used to do so.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he started to pray, raise his hands, and when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, until they were parallel with the top of his ears."
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَحِينَ رَكَعَ وَحِينَ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى حَاذَتَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ
"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raise his hands until they reached the highest part of his ears, when he said the takbir, when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing."
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى بَلَغَتَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ
His father said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he started to pray, raise his hands until they were parallel to his shoulders, (and he did that) when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing."
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ
He saw the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, until they were in level with the highest part of his ears.
أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ
He saw the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands when praying, when he bowed, when he raised his head from bowing, when he prostrated and when he raised his head from prostrating, until they were in level with the top part of his ears.
أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي صَلاَتِهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَإِذَا سَجَدَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed he would Jakhkha.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى جَخَّى
The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands when he began to pray, when he wanted to bow, when he raised his head from bowing, and when he stood up after the first two rak'ahs, he would raise his hands likewise, level with his shoulders.
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَإِذَا قَامَ مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ كَذَلِكَ حَذْوَ الْمَنْكِبَيْنِ
Abdulla bin Umar used to walk rapidly for three (rounds), and walk for four, and he said that the Messenger of Allah used to do that.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands at every Takbir (saying Allahu Akbar).
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ تَكْبِيرَةٍ
It was narrated from Muhammad bin ‘Ubaidullah bin Abu Rafi’, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to come to ‘Eid prayers walking.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْتِي الْعِيدَ مَاشِيًا
[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands (in supplication) whenever he stood up for prayer."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَمْ يَكُنْ يَقُومُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ إِلَّا رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ مَدًّا»
[AI] The translation of the provided sentence is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to, when he entered into prayer, say takbeer (saying Allahu Akbar) and raise his hands level with his shoulders, and when he went into ruku' (bowing), he would say takbeer and raise his hands, and when he raised his head from ruku', he would do the same, and he did not raise his hands between the two prostrations or during prostration."

[AI] Certainly, the Prophet ﷺ used to "when he performed the takbeer, he would raise his hands until they were level with his ears, and when he intended to bow, and when he raised his head from bowing."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ «إِذَا كَبَّرَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ»
It was narrated from ʿAli ؓ that The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray at the time of the forenoon (duha).
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ الضُّحَى
[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raising his hands when he entered the prayer, when he bowed, and when he raised his head from the bowing position, but he did not do that during prostration."
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ
[AI] The translation of the given Arabic text into English is: "It is reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands up to the level of his shoulders when entering prayer, and when he would bow down and when he would rise from bowing."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ
My father said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise both his hands up to the level of his shoulders when opening the prayer; and on saying the Takbir for bowing. And on raising his head from bowing he used to do the same and then say "Samiʿa l-lahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa laka l-hamd." And he did not do that (i.e. raising his hands) in prostrations. أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ
[AI] On the authority of Malik ibn al-Huwayrith, who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands when he entered into prayer, and when he went into prostration, and when he lifted his head from the bowing position until his ears.
عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ إِلَى أُذُنَيْهِ
"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he started to pray, raise his hands, and when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, until they were parallel with the top of his ears." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 881)
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى حَاذَتَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ
Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Sa'id from Sulayman ibn Yasar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands in the prayer.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي الصَّلاَةِ
Nafi' said: Ibn Umar used to lengthen his prayer before the Friday prayer and would offer two rak'ahs after it in his house. He used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would do that. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1128)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ»
[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to spread his fingers during prayer."
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَنْشُرُ أَصَابِعَهُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ نَشْرًا»
[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands when he started the prayer until his hands were level with his ears, and when he bowed, and when he raised his head from the bowing position."
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا كَبَّرَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ»
[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ: "When he started the prayer, he raised his hands, and when he bowed and when he said, 'Allah listens to the one who praises Him', and when he stood up from the two units of prayer, he raised them to his shoulders."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ وَإِذَا قَامَ مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ رَفَعَهُمَا إِلَى مَنْكِبَيْهِ»
Abu Qilaba reported that he saw Malik b. Huwairith raising his hands at the beginning of prayer and raising his hands before kneeling down, and raising his hands after lifting his head from the state of kneeling, and he narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do like this. أَنَّهُ رَأَى مَالِكَ بْنَ الْحُوَيْرِثِ «إِذَا صَلَّى كَبَّرَ وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَحَدَّثَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ هَكَذَا»
The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands when he began to pray, when he wanted to bow, when he raised his head from bowing, and when he stood up after the first two rak'ahs, he would raise his hands likewise, level with his shoulders. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1182)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَإِذَا قَامَ مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي ذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ حَذْوَ الْمَنْكِبَيْنِ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُشِيرُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
Nafi' said: Ibn Umar used to lengthen his prayer before the Friday prayer and would offer two rak'ahs after it in his house. He used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would do that. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1128)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ»
[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to separate between the two prostrations in prayer and the odd units."
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوِتْرِ»
Nafi' said: Ibn Umar used to lengthen his prayer before the Friday prayer and would offer two rak'ahs after it in his house. He used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would do that. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1128)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ»
[AI] "That the messenger of Allah ﷺ used to be called Abu Salih."

[AI] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to dislike yawning during prayer."
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ التَّثَاؤُبَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to place his right hand over his left hand during prayer."
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to place his hands between his knees in prayer.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُدْخِلُ يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ, when he started the prayer, he lifted his hands, and when he bowed and when he raised his head from the bowing position, he did not raise his hands above his ears with them.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «كَانَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَلَا يُجَاوِزُ بِهِمَا أُذُنَيْهِ»
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands at every Takbir (saying Allahu Akbar) in the obligatory prayer.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 861)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ مَعَ كُلِّ تَكْبِيرَةٍ فِي الصَّلَاةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ»
[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands when he said the takbeer at the beginning of the prayer until they reached the level of his ears. And when he bowed and raised his head from Rukoo', the wording is the same."
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ» إِذَا كَبَّرَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِي بِهِمَا أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ «وَاللَّفْظُ وَاحِدٌ»
[AI] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to, when he entered prayer, raise his hands to the level of his ears. And when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing."
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ» إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى فُرُوعِ أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to place one of his hands on top of the other during prayer.
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَضَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَى فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
