“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had an Arabian bow in his hand, and he saw a man who had a Persian bow in his hand. He said: ‘What is this? Throw it away. You should use this and others like it, and Qana* spears. Perhaps Allah will support His religion thereby and enable you to conquer lands.’”  

ابن ماجة:٢٨١٠ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ أَنْبَأَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

كَانَتْ بِيَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَوْسٌ عَرَبِيَّةٌ فَرَأَى رَجُلاً بِيَدِهِ قَوْسٌ فَارِسِيَّةٌ فَقَالَ مَا هَذِهِ أَلْقِهَا وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ وَأَشْبَاهِهَا وَرِمَاحِ الْقَنَا فَإِنَّهُمَا يَزِيدُ اللَّهُ بِهِمَا فِي الدِّينِ وَيُمَكِّنُ لَكُمْ فِي الْبِلاَدِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , threw away a Persian bow that a man had with him and then pointed to an Arabian bow and said, "With this and the spear of Qana, you will be able to conquer lands and defeat your enemies."  

الطبراني:١٤٤٨٠ – حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْعُكْبَرِيُّ ثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ التَّيْمِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُوَيْمِ بْنِ سَاعِدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّه قَالَ

أَنْهَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا مَعَه قَوْسٌ فَارِسِيَّةٌ فَقَالَ «اطْرَحْهَا» ثُمّ أَشَارَ إِلَى الْقَوْسِ الْعَرَبِيَّةِ وَقَالَ «بِهَذِه وبِرُمْحِ الْقَنَا يُمَكِّنُ لَكُم فِي الْبِلَادِ ويَنْصُرُكُمْ عَلَى عَدُوِّكُمْ»
