ذِكْرُ السَّبَبِ الَّذِي مِنْ أَجْلِهِ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا: {فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ}

ibnhibban:967 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Daghwalī > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Bishr b. al-Ḥakam > ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn b. Wāqid from my father > Yazīd al-Naḥwī > ʿIkrimah > Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] Abu Sufyan bin Harb came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Muhammad, I swear to you by Allah and the womb, we have eaten 'ilhiz', meaning antelope meat and blood. So Allah revealed, 'And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate [to Him].'"  

ابن حبّان:٩٦٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّغْوَلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ النَّحْوِيُّ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ حَرْبٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَنْشُدُكَ اللَّهَ وَالرَّحِمَ فَقَدْ أَكَلْنَا الْعِلْهِزَ يَعْنِي الْوَبَرَ وَالدَّمَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ {وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ}

[Machine] Abu Sufyan came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Muhammad, I swear by Allah and the kinship, we have eaten the 'Alhaz' which means wild animals and blood." So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed: "And indeed, We seized them with punishment, but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate" (Surah Al-Mu'minun, 76).

جَاءَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَنْشُدُكَ اللَّهَ وَالرَّحِمَ قَدْ أَكَلْنَا الْعَلْهَزَ يَعْنِي الْوَبَرَ وَالدَّمَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ {وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ} [المؤمنون 76]

الطبراني:١٢٠٣٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ يَزِيدَ النَّحْوِيِّ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ حَرْبٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ نَشَدْتُكَ اللهَ وَالرَّحِمَ قَدْ أَكَلْنَا الْعلهزَ يَعْنِي الْوَبَرَ وَالدَّمَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ}  

nasai-kubra:11289 – Muḥammad b. ʿUqayl > ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn from my father > Yazīd > ʿIkrimah > Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] Abu Sufyan came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Muhammad, I swear to Allah and the Most Merciful, we have eaten Al-'Ilhiz, meaning the part of an animal that is tender and delicious (the meat and blood). So Allah revealed {And We certainly seized them with punishment, but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate} [Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 76].  

الكبرى للنسائي:١١٢٨٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُقَيْلٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبِي أَنْبَأَنِي يَزِيدُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
