[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to often say before his death, "SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi, astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayhi." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you utter a lot of supplications that you did not used to utter before this?" He replied, "Verily, my Lord, the Exalted and Glorious, has told me that He would send down (the news of) knowledge to me until I would see a sign which every Muslim would acknowledge. And the event which is to take place (in the near future) had already taken place, so there is no use in supplicating for it. So in this case, uttering (the supplication) is the cause of my happiness and expressing gratitude (to Allah), and I shall be the first amongst the people to present myself before Allah in absolute purity."
