[Machine] An Arab man gifted something to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , so he rewarded him in return, and asked him, "Are you satisfied?" He replied, "No." So the Prophet ﷺ increased the reward and asked again, "Are you satisfied?" This time he replied, "Yes." Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "I had intended not to give any rewards except to Quraishi people, Ansari people, or Thaqafi people."  

ابن حبّان:٦٣٨٤أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ بِبَيْرُوتَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُلَيَّةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا وَهَبَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَثَابَهُ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ «رَضِيتَ؟ » قَالَ لَا فَزَادَهُ وَقَالَ «رَضِيتَ؟ » قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أَتَّهِبُ إِلَّا مِنْ قُرَشِيٍّ أَوْ أَنْصَارِيٍّ أَوْ ثَقَفِيٍّ»

[Machine] A Bedouin man gifted a gift to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , so he rewarded him for it and asked, "Are you satisfied?" The man said, "No." So the Prophet added more to it and asked again, "Are you satisfied?" The man said, "No." The Prophet added more to it once again and asked, "Are you satisfied?" Finally, the man agreed and said, "Yes." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I desired that I would not keep a gift unless it was from a Qurayshi, an Ansari, or a Thaqafi."  

أحمد:٢٦٨٧حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

[Machine] A man gifted a camel to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he rewarded him for it. He asked, "Are you satisfied?" He replied, "No," so he increased in reward and asked again, "Are you satisfied?" He replied, "No," so he increased again and asked, "Are you satisfied?" He replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, I have always intended not to take a gift except from my Ansar, Quraysh, or Thaqafi supporters."  

الطبراني:١٠٨٩٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

وَهْبَ رَجُلٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَاقَةً فَأَثَابَهُ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ «رَضِيتَ؟» قَالَ لَا فَزَادَهُ فَقَالَ «رَضِيتَ؟» قَالَ لَا فَزَادَهُ قَالَ «رَضِيتَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أَتَّهِبَ هِبَةً إِلَّا مِنْ أَنْصَارِيٍّ أَوْ قُرَشِيٍّ أَوْ ثَقَفِيٍّ»
