ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى أَنَّ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ لَمْ يَكُنْ مُتَمَتِّعًا فِي حَجَّتِهِ

ibnhibban:3941ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad al-Azdī > Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm > al-Naḍr b. Shumayl And Wahb b. Jarīr > Shuʿbah > al-Ḥakam b. ʿUtaybah > ʿAlī b. Ḥusayn > Dhakwān a freed slave of ʿĀʾishah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me for four or five nights of Dhu al-Hijjah during his Hajj, and he was angry. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, whoever angers you, Allah will admit him into the Fire." He ﷺ said, "Have you not felt that I commanded them with a matter and they hesitated in it? If it were not for the fact that I received guidance from my Lord, I would not have stoned the Jamrat nor sacrificed the animal until they did so."

Messenger of Allah, who has annoyed you? May Allah cast him in fire I He said: Don't you know that I commanded the people to do an act, but they are hesitant. (Hakam said: I think that he said: They seem to be hesitant.) And if I were to know my affair before what I had to do subsequently, I would not have brought with me the sacrificial animals, and would have bought them (at Mecca) and would have put off lhram as others have done.

[Machine] She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came on the 4th of Dhu al-Hijjah, and he entered upon me while he was angry. So I said, 'Who made you angry, O Messenger of Allah? May Allah admit him to the Fire.' He said, 'And what made me aware that I commanded the people with something and they hesitated?' The judge said, 'It is as if they thought, if I had known about my matter, I would not have overlooked it until I bought the sacrificial animal and then made it permissible as they have done.' He said, 'A soul hesitates in it.' He said, 'It is as if they feared, I assume.'"
