ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمَرْءَ إِنَّمَا أُمِرَ أَنْ يُعَلِّقَ الْقِنْوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مِنَ الْحَائِطِ الَّذِي يَكُونُ جِدَادُهُ عَشَرَةَ أَوْسُقٍ

Jabir bin ‘Abdallah said The bProphet (SWAS) commanded that he who plucks ten wasqs of dates from date palms should hang a bunch of dates in the mosque for the poor (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1662)   

ابن حبّان:٣٢٨٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حِبَّانَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَاسِعِ بْنِ حِبَّانَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

«أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ كُلِّ جَادٍّ * عَشَرَةِ أَوْسُقٍ مِنَ التَّمْرِ بِقِنْوٍ يُعَلَّقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لِلْمَسَاكِينَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that from every mature date palm tree, ten clusters of dates should be given.
