ذِكْرُ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْمَرْءِ إِذَا فَاتَهُ تَهَجُّدُهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ بِسَبَبٍ مِنَ الْأَسْبَابِ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا بِالنَّهَارِ سَوَاءٌ

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to establish any deed that he performed." And she (Aisha) said, "Whenever he would sleep at night or fall ill during the day, he would pray twelve cycles (rak'ahs), and I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ staying up the whole night until morning, nor fasting for an entire month consecutively except during Ramadan."  

ابن حبّان:٢٦٤٤أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو فِرَاسٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُمْعَةَ الْأَصَمُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يَعِيشَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زُرَارَةَ بْنَ أَوْفَى عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا عَمِلَ عَمَلًا أَثْبَتَهُ» وَقَالَتْ «كَانَ إِذَا نَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ أَوْ مَرِضَ صَلَّى بِالنَّهَارِ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً وَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ لَيْلَةً حَتَّى الصُّبْحِ وَلَا صَامَ شَهْرًا مُتَتَابِعًا إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ»

'A'isha reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ decided upon doing any act, he continued to do it, and when he slept at night or fell sick he observed twelve rak'ahs during the daytime. I am not aware of Messenger of Allah ﷺ observing prayer during the whole of the night till morning, or observing fast for a whole month continuously except that of Ramadan.

[Machine] "When the Prophet ﷺ fell ill or went to sleep during the day, he used to pray twelve units (rak'ahs). She (Aisha) said, "I never saw him (the Prophet) pray all night until morning. nor complete a month of fasting, except Ramadan."
