ذِكْرُ بَعْضِ الْعِلَّةِ الَّتِي مِنْ أَجْلِهَا جَمَعَ ﷺ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered in a meal that he undertook during a battle between Dhuhr and Asr and Maghrib and Isha. So I asked him, what led him to do that? He said, he intended not to burden his nation."

ابن حبّان:١٥٩١ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ وَأَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الطُّفَيْلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَمَعَ فِي سَفْرَةٍ سَافَرَهَا وَذَلِكَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ» فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَمَا حَمَلَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ أَرَادَ أَنْ لَا يُحْرِجَ أُمَّتَهُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined in the expedition to Tabuk the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer and the sunset prayer with the 'Isha' prayer. He (one of the narrators) said: What prompted him to do that? He (Mu'adh) replied that he (the Holy Prophet) wanted that his Ummah should not be put to (unnecessary) hardship.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went on a journey, which was the expedition of Tabuk. He combined the prayers of Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. I asked, "What made him do that?" He said, "He wanted to make it easier for his ummah."

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Dhuhr and Asr prayers together in the city of Madinah, without being on a journey or in fear." I asked Ibn Abbas, "Why did he do that?" He said, "He wanted to not inconvenience anyone from his nation."

الطبراني:١٢٥١٦ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ فِي غَيْرِ سَفَرٍ وَلَا خَوْفٍ» قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ لِمَ تَرَاهُ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ «أَرَادَ أَنْ لَا يُحْرِجَ أَحَدًا مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ»
