[Machine] Abdul Malik, write to Al-Hajjaj, "O boy!" So he wrote to him, "Woe to you! I feared that no one would be able to fix things in your hands. So when my letter reaches you, go quickly to apologize to Anas ibn Malik."  

الحاكم:٦٤٥٤أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَافِظُ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ كَتَبَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ إِلَى عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ «يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنِّي قَدْ خَدَمْتُ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ وَأَنَّ الْحَجَّاجَ يَعُدُّنِي مِنْ حَوَكَةِ الْبَصْرَةِ» فَقَالَ

عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ اكْتُبْ إِلَى الْحَجَّاجِ يَا غُلَامُ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ وَيْلَكَ قَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ لَا يَصْلُحَ عَلَى يَدِكَ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا جَاءَكَ كِتَابِي هَذَا فَقُمْ حَتَّى تَعْتَذِرَ إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍسكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
