He noticed a woman crying, so he asked her, 'What makes you cry?' She replied, 'My son has been sold to the Banu Abs tribe.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abu Usaid, 'You will have to ride and bring him back.' So Abu Usaid rode and brought him back."

[Machine] Abu Usaid al-Ansari arrived with a group of captives from Bahrain, so they were lined up. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and looked at them, and he saw a woman crying. He asked her, "What makes you cry?" She said, "My son was sold in 'Abss." The Prophet ﷺ said to Abu Usaid, "You may ride and bring him back, just as you sold him for the price." So Abu Usaid rode and brought him back, and if there was any payment for him, it was good and lawful because it was a valid transaction witnessed by what had passed.
