[Machine] He informed him that he heard Abu Huraira say, "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day when a hunter came to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we go out to sea to seek game, and one of us carries a water skin, hoping to catch the game soon. Perhaps he will find it as he hopes, or perhaps he will not find the game until he reaches a place in the sea that he never expected to reach. He might then become thirsty or be in need of performing ablution. If he performs ablution or uses this water, will any of us be harmed by thirst? Do you see it permissible for us to perform ablution or use this water if we fear that?' It is reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Perform ablution with it and use it, for its water is pure and its dead are lawful.' Muslim, with the authority of Jullah ibn Kathir, followed Yahya ibn Sa`id al-Ansari and Yazid ibn Muhammad al-Qurashi, who followed Sa`id ibn Salama al-Makhzumi in narrating this Hadith, but they differed on this Hadith."

[Machine] Narrated by Huwayrah: We were with the messenger of Allah ﷺ one day when a hunter came to him and asked, "O messenger of Allah, should we go out to the sea in search of prey? And should one of us carry a water skin with hopes of finding water near the sea? Perhaps he may find it so, and maybe he won't find water until he has reached a place in the sea that he did not expect to reach. Maybe he will need to use it for ablution or to quench his thirst. Should we then use the water of the sea for washing and ablution if we fear such a situation?" The messenger of Allah ﷺ supposedly said, "Wash yourselves with it and perform ablution with it, for its water is pure, its dead are lawful to be eaten." Yahya bin Sa'id al-Ansari, Yazid bin Muhammad al-Qurashi and Sa'id ibn Zaid also followed this narration, except that there was a difference with regard to Yahya bin Sa'id. It was narrated from him by al-Mughirah bin Abi Burdah and it was narrated from al-Mughirah by a man of the Banu Mudlij, and it was narrated from him by a man of the Banu Mudlij, and it was narrated from him by al-Mughirah bin Abdillah, and it was narrated from his father. Another name is also mentioned besides this, and they also differed concerning the name of Sa'id bin Salamah. Some said it was as Malik said, and some said it was Abdillah bin Sa'id al-Makhzumi, and some said it was Salamah bin Sa'id, and this is what Ash-Shafi'i meant when he said in his isnad, "The narrator whom I do not know, or it may be al-Mughirah, but all the narrators in its chain of transmission are trustworthy, and al-Malik mentioned it as an uninterrupted isnad, and Abu Dawud included it in his Sunan. This hadith was also narrated by Ali bin Abu Talib, Jabir bin Abdullah, and Abdullah bin Amr, all from the prophet ﷺ .
